Confirmation Class for those in
7th grade through high school & parents
The purpose of confirmation is for the confirmand (student) to confess and confirm the Christian faith into which they were baptized. Romans 10:9-10 says, ”if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.”
The Confirmation process involves growing in knowledge, faith, and service. Confirmands (and their parents) are expected to attend worship every Sunday at 9 am. It is understood that this will not always be possible, but absences should be kept to a minimum. Confirmation Classes are on Thursdays from 6:00 to 7:00 and are taught by me, Pastor Mike. Parents are encouraged to attend worship with their confirmands and are also invited to attend the Confirmation Classes when able. In this way both the confirmands and their parents will grow in their knowledge, faith, and family relationships.
In addition to the Sunday mornings, the confirmands will be expected to go with the pastor on at least two visits to a hospital or nursing home or evangelism visit. Confirmands will also complete a Confirmation Project of their design, which is a creative way for them to communicate what they have learned during the confirmation process.
